White Ash Yunomi
There are days in the studio when I'm not trying to make anything in particular — no quota, no throwing gauge, just time at the wheel. This cup came from one of those days. I was making footed cups, one after another, letting each one be slightly different from the last. I was paying attention in a way that's harder to access when I'm working against a deadline. I think that quality of attention is in the form somehow — the way the wall swells outward like something ripe, the foot that grounds it without anchoring it too heavily. I tend to think about volume when I'm throwing. I want a pot to feel generous. This one does.
