Yellow Footed Yunomi
I was thinking about spring when I made this — looking for colors that felt like the season rather than just depicting it. The amber yellow comes from a celadon glaze I've worked with for years, adjusted until it shifted into something warmer and less expected. Beneath it, a thick white slip catches the glaze differently where it's thinner, letting the iron in the clay body come through as golden brown. At the rim, a band of the original green celadon — a memory of where the glaze started. Three cups came out of this experiment. This is one of them.
